Keep Doing My Thing - The We-Wu for July 22-26, 2024

Mystery of the week:

Why is there a list of food? Why is it in the bathroom? Why is it so generic? Is the book for book club any good?

Of course, when I say it was the mystery of the week, I really mean it took less than a day to figure out. We have had a group of English students (as in, people learning English as a second language) here for class on the weekends. These are common foods you’d eat here. It’s in the bathroom because everyone pees. And I’m pretty sure the book is great.

Anyway, as you can see, I have changed the title of this post. We are officially on the We-Wu phase of the blog. I haven’t actually figured out the rest of the title as I’m writing this, but whatever I choose should give us a little more variety. I also figured out last week that I have to manually send an email to let people know I’ve updated the blog. But I don’t know how many people are relying on that vs deciding to make checking my site part of their weekly routine. I guess it doesn’t matter. I’ll keep doing my thing either way.

I moved a lot of files around this week. I told you a while ago that we were making our published files more uniform, which is now done. So I had to move the completed files to our network and then move the network files onto the server. That way, all of our users can download the latest and greatest files in whatever language they so choose.

Other than that, this was a pretty heavy meeting week. We have one every Monday morning, I had my team meeting on Tuesday, a trip planning meeting on Tuesday, chapel and Funding Friends on Wednesday, and two meetings Friday morning. Most were pretty good, lots of prayer and new things to learn.

We have a new cutting machine! (Yes, the marks on the floor are from the old beast.) If you trawl back through my posts, you’ll find a photo or video of me using the old one. That was more than 10 years ago, though, so I won’t blame you if you don’t go looking for it. That one was a real power trip to use, mostly because it came with the possibility of death and dismemberment. This one is much safer to use, which is good, but I will hold a special (tiny) place in my heart for the old one.

Speaking of places in my heart, today was the last day for our summer intern Rachel! I say ‘our,’ but really she was working with Global Training Solutions Group, which shares my hallway. But Rachel sat right outside my office, and we took some lovely walks together. Pray for her as she completes her senior year of college.

I think that might do it for the week. I will be in the office one day next week, and then I’m off on a few adventures. Sadly, that does indeed mean there will be no blog post next week. I know. Try to keep it together.

Bye!
