The Weekly Wrap-Up: June 13-17, 2016

As a colleague said today, "It's the month of people!"

Granted, both June and July tend to be like that, but it feels especially true right now. Field personnel are beginning to arrive in droves. It can be a little stressful for homeland folks, particularly as we are preparing for conference next week. But we love seeing everyone, so we do what we can.

I'm a little scatterbrained on my week. It feels like I've been all over the place. I finished cross checking the T&M booklets for Scripture splits. I met with Veronica a couple of times to chat about things we need to work on next. She just went through the Japanese booklets and had some pointers about those. It can be a little difficult switching gears in my brain between languages, especially ones I worked on months ago. WIth 23 new projects coming up, I'll have to get used to it.

Like I said, conference is fast approaching. Lori and I have been working on the photo booth stuff, and I've been sorting out last minute details with the flags. I think I have everyone locked down. We ended up with 37 countries represented, which is pretty amazing. We have a nice mix of old and new. Of course, I've already heard questions about why certain countries aren't included. My response?

Don't start none; won't be none.

Seriously. It's five minutes. We're here for a higher purpose. And I ran out of flagpoles.

I'm trying to figure out everything I need to take and do and find and prepare for. Every time I think of something, I try to write it down. I have about 20 post-it notes scattered on my desk. Not sure that's the best system, but it's the one we've got.

I'm looking forward to the weekend, but I don't think there will be much relaxing. Too much to do. I'm staying after conference for the ECC seminar, and then I'm taking a week off for deputation and to visit my parents. I figure I'll need the break. So I have to pack for three things.

I'll try to post about conference and the seminar over the next couple of weeks. I want you to get a taste of what it's like to attend.

Otherwise, I won't be back on here for a weekly wrap-up until July 15. Try not to miss me too much.
